Curriculum

 

New Creation Christian Academy designed to provide a system of support to parents, through the unique concept of blending home school with a traditional school setting. NCCA uses Switched-On Schoolhouse curriculum for history and electives, SOS allows students to work independently.  NCCA sets up the initial program, customizes lesson plans if necessary, checks student progress which can be viewed in “teacher mode” on the computer, and reviews writing assignments and facilitates classroom activities and social interaction. Administrative tools in SOS include time-saving features like automatic grading and advanced lesson planning, along with a customizable calendar, custom lessons, and a messaging system. Tests and quizzes are included within the curriculum, and the teacher can choose when and how to administer assessments.

 

In addition, pass thresholds can be determined at the school or student level. We use Total Language Plus for language arts. TLP is a literature inspired, language arts program that focuses on thinking and communicating skills. It features integrated lessons with the goals of developing godly character and a biblical perspective.

 

Our novel studies cover: Spelling, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Listening, Grammar and Punctuation, Analytical and critical thinking, Writing and Field trips/projects. NCCA uses Tablet Class which is an online Math Learning System. Tablet Class combines great math instruction with powerful software designed to make math easy and effective.  All math instruction is taught by a certified experienced classroom math teacher. Students learn in a dedicated course platform.
